Gallop Ventures brings students out of the classroom and into the corral to engage in hands-on experiential exercises that facilitate new insights and awareness, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and enhance communication and problem solving.
Colleges and Universities
Gallop Ventures offers an Introductory to Equine Guided Education Course to Stanford students, faculty and staff. The course provides a hands-on learning experience of the field. Topics include: applications of Equine Assisted Learning and Psychotherap and coaching and independent study. We also offer professional development programs focused on teamwork, leadership, and communications. Programs are available as two-day intensives or as a 10-week class.
In collaboration with UC Berkeley's Center for Executive Education and the Executive Coaching Insitute, Gallop Ventures offers a one-day workshop to bridge the intensive trianing and practicum training in this two-week program. This one-day experiential provides an opportunity to solidify the concepts learned and transition coaching skills from theory to practice. Partcipants often note this as one of the "highlights" of their training and "life changing" in many respects. This program is available in one and two-day formats.
Middle School and High School
Gallop Ventures offers middle schools and high schools a unique and innovative character development program called Skills for Life: Youth Leadership Development designed to promote social and emotional intelligence among teenagers and young adults. This program is based on the CASEL model for Social and Emotional Learning and explores: Self Awareness, Responsible Decision Making, Relationship Skills, Social Awareness and Self Management. Continuing Education Units for Professionals
Gallop Ventures offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP): Utilizing Horses in Your Therapeutic Practice to introduce mental health professionals to EAP and demonstrate the benefits of incorporating horses into the therapeutic process. Participants will learn how to explore relationship dynamics and behavioral patterns and develop useful metaphors with clients. This workshop is approved for 5 CEU’s to California Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists (MFTs) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs). Gallop Ventures is a BBS approved provider.
