We would love the opportunity to talk with you about what we offer or about customizing a workshop for you or your organization.
In the meantime, here is a list of our most frequently asked questions.
+ What is Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)?
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential learning approach that promotes the development of life skills to meet educational, professional and personal goals through activities with horses.
+ What is Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)?
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an interactive psychotherapy modality in which clients engage in activities with horses to address psychotherapy goals set forth by a mental health professional.
+ Do I need to have previous horse experience?
No, 100% of the activities take place on the ground. None of the instructors will be riding the horses during the program session, either.
+ What will we be doing?
You will be doing activities with the horses that are designed to elicit specific learning objectives. This may include haltering or leading, as an example. The activities require no specific skills or experience, but all are hands-on and interactive. Some people describe the program as a type of "Ropes Course" with horses.
+ What do I wear?
Layers are best, a hat and sunscreen (on warm days). We also ask that you wear CLOSED TOE SHOES - no sandals!
+ What do I need to bring?
Water is always good. And please bring your liability waivers.
+ What if I'm afraid of horses?
It's not uncommon to be afraid of a larger animal. It's ok, we will go at a pace that is comfortable for you. Even if you don't get close, you may be surprised to find that you still experience the benefits.
+ What if I have allergies?
Most over the counter antihistamines work and you do not have to touch the horse - unless you want to and many do!
+ How do I schedule a group or individual session?
Contact us at info@gallopventures.com.
+ What does it cost?
The cost for a group session varies depending on group size and length of the program.
+ What is your cancellation policy?
Individual sessions must be canceled within 48 hours or the full fee is due. Group sessions may be canceled up to one weeks in advance. A full refund, minus a $100 deposit will be reimbursed.
+ What if it rains?
If it rains and we are unable to secure a covered space, you will have the option to choose a new date --or receive a full refund.
+ Who are some of your past clients?
We work with groups of all kinds - we have worked with executives and managers from around the world including companies, universities, and nonprofit organizations. The horses don't care about what we do for a living, they care about how we show up.
+ Can I customize a program?
Yes, if you would like us to design a specific program for your group, we are happy to do so. Please contact us for more information.
