Our Programs

Gallop Ventures offers two types of Equine Facilitated Learning programs, Join the Herd and Find Your Stride, that are offered on site or at your barn. We work with individuals and groups ranging from 5-25, with anywhere from 2 to 6 horses depending on the size of the group and the location of the program. Additionally, Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy programs are offered and led by partner Amy Hublou, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Join the Herd: Lessons from Horses

This program is for people interested in gaining self-awareness about how they interact with themselves and others, whether it be their families or their peers. Perfect for both teams and individuals, Join the Herd participants work with the horses to gain awareness about their social interactions, leadership style, and personal boundaries. Through interacting with the horses, participants explore group and herd dynamics, communication patterns and styles, body language, and dealing with conflict. Observe how you act in your “herd” at work and at home, and take note of your leadership style, the role you play on teams, and how you communicate with others to create mutually beneficial and supportive relationships.

I want to know what you ache for, if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, if you truly like the company you keep in the silent moments.

Find Your Stride: Look Within to Discover Your Path

In this program we take a different approach, focusing on the horse’s deep stillness and solid presence to encourage self-discovery. Experience shows that working with horses calms the mind. From this place of inner stillness, we enjoy the empty spaces from which intuition and awareness about the fullness of life come from. Participants work with the horses to define and discover their unique gifts, set goals, and connect with themselves. The horses naturally respond, as they easily recognize true confidence and leadership. We witness varied reactions from the horses, depending on one’s level of alignment and commitment. Ultimately, you will know when you have earned the horse’s trust. As a result, you will know more deeply what you stand for and your path for personal transformation and power. This program is for people seeking to rise above the everyday thinking to discover new and transformative insights.

Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy

Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) is an alternative to traditional talk therapy. It involves natural interactions with horses for the purpose of personal growth and healing. Clients learn about themselves by participating in activities with horses and then processing feelings, behaviors and patterns as they emerge.

The Gallop approach to Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy offers a new model of therapy that moves beyond a weekly talk session and into a more holistic and immersive experience. At Gallop, we promote an exchange of energy between humans and animals and nature for mutual enrichment and deeper connection.

These programs take therapy from the proverbial "couch" to the barn, allowing clients to engage in different activities with the horse, with our other animals, and with the environment. Through the experiential nature of the work and the presence of horses, we learn to tune in more deeply. Their stillness and attention teaches us what it means to be in the moment. Their feedback demonstrates the importance of purposefulness in our intentions. And through this presence and purpose, we are able to find our own personal power that allows us to live our most authentic life.

Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy is an effective treatment for children, adolescents and adults who would like to address emotional, behavioral, social, mental, physical and/or spiritual needs. EFP is appropriate for Individuals, Couples, Families, and Groups, as well as Professionals seeking coaching opportunities.
